What’s special about Sarajevo can’t be captured by photos. I spent more time observing, conversing, and reflecting on Sarajevo’s past, present and future than I did taking photos. Sarajevo touched me more than any other destination I visited on this trip.

The polished marble streets and limestone walls of Dubrovnik’s old city sparkle in the sunshine. But the best way to view them is from atop the walls that circle the city and from Lokrum Island just a short boat ride away.
Zany? Maybe not, but I couldn’t resist another alliteration. It could have been worse. How about Zarathustrian Zagreb? I have no idea what that means. I just like the sound of it.
Well, maybe not so funky, but I like alliterations. Admittedly, this one was a stretch.
You would think that after 5 days of hiking, I would lose a couple of pounds. Apparently not when you’re trekking through Tuscany.
My recent trip through the Inside Passage of SE Alaska, my third in the area, broke all of my personal records for whales, brown bears, and photos. 
What’s better than one geezer exploring the treasures of British Columbia’s spectacular coast line? Two geezers.

I gulped once, then hung on for dear life as our inflatable kayak plunged 12 feet down the vertical face of the waterfall.
The taut wire sang as the Adventure Geezer zipped over the meadow. No, not me, the other “Adventure Geezer,” my generational compatriot, John, from British Columbia.
