Funky Florence

Well, maybe not so funky, but I like alliterations. Admittedly, this one was a stretch.P1050615

I’m not sure what I liked most about our three day visit to Florence — Michelangelo’s David in the Academia, the sunset views of the city from Piazzalle Michelangelo across the Arno River, or the incredible sandwich from All’ Antico Vinaio just down the block from where we were staying in the old city.

About the latter, the lines were so long in the afternoon, we opted instead to show up at the shop about 5 minutes before they opened at 10 am each morning we were there to ensure our place in line. Not your typical breakfast, but arguably the best sandwich I have ever had.

About the David — a stunning piece of work, but I don’t think he looks Jewish. Well, maybe Tony Curtis….P1050544 P1050537 P1050536
